インスタレーション
わたしたちは自身の身体を、完全な肉によって構成されたものとして捉える傾向にある。普遍的な人間像としての「ヒトガタ」は、わたしたちの思考が「肉と血の箱の中に閉ざされた記号的な自己」によって、無意識のうちに支配されていることを示している。
しかし一方で、肉の塊である私たちの身体は、絶えず変容し、再編成され続けている。例えば食事とは、何者かの身体の皮膜を破り、毀損することで、自らの身体の資源へと変化させる行為である。
このような絶え間ないメタモルフォーゼは、多くの生物が共通に保有するチューブ状の身体によって支えられている。そこへ流入することで生じる「何者かの記号的な死」とは、単純な消失や不在ではなく、存在が一時的に折り畳まれることにほかならない。チューブとは、「何者か」が「わたし」へと移り変わることで、生死が反転する「場」である。
個体は自らと世界の境界を生きているという。界面で生じる摩擦によって「わたし」が発生し、同時に「世界」も発生するのだ。では、臓器の界面においてはどうだろうか。「何者か」と「わたし」が未分化のまま並置される摩擦の場に意識を向けたとき、どのような「わたし」が形成されるのだろうか。
存在の折り畳みによって発生した無数の襞（ひだ）は、押し引きを繰り返しながら複数の存在を繋ぎ合わせている。わたしたちの内側で生じる地殻変動、すなわち「何者か」→「わたし」への越境を摩擦として感じ取ることは、皮膜によって境界づけられたヒトガタの自己に亀裂を入れるはずだ。
わたしたちが通常認識する肉で構成された身体を影へと退けたとき、そこには植物の枝や根に類する構造が立ち現れるだろう。偶然にも植物は、境界をまたぐようにして天と地という二つの場に暮らす、越境的身体を備えている。

Installation
We tend to conceive of our bodies as entities composed entirely of flesh. The “human form” as a universal image suggests that our thinking is unconsciously governed by a symbolic self enclosed within a box of flesh and blood.
Yet at the same time, our bodies—as masses of flesh—are in a constant state of transformation and reconfiguration. Eating, for instance, is an act in which we rupture and damage the membrane of another being’s body, thereby converting it into a resource for our own.
Such continuous metamorphosis is sustained by the tubular bodily structures shared by many living organisms. The “symbolic death” that occurs when something flows into this tube is not a simple disappearance or absence, but rather a temporary folding of existence. The tube is thus a site where “something” transforms into “myself,” and where life and death are reversed.
It is said that an individual lives at the boundary between self and world. Through the friction that arises at this interface, the “self” emerges—and at the same time, so does the “world.” But what, then, occurs at the interfaces of our organs? When we turn our attention to a field of friction where “something” and “myself” coexist in an undifferentiated state, what kind of “self” is formed?
The countless folds generated through the folding of existence connect multiple beings while repeatedly expanding and contracting. To perceive, as friction, the internal tectonic shifts within us—that is, the crossing from “something” into “myself”—is to fissure the self of the human form that is delimited by its membrane.
When we push aside the body as we ordinarily perceive it—composed of flesh—structures akin to the branches and roots of plants come into view. Plants, by chance, possess bodies that traverse boundaries, dwelling across two realms: the heavens and the earth.
